If I could have any Vintage Motorcycle Helmet, It would probably be the old King Kenny Roberts lid. Daytona 1984 ERA. I never thought the 80's would be ever be anything Vintage.
Second Choice would be a Simpson. Back in the day I was quite fond of the Simpson Drag Racing Helmets. The just look mean.
Remember the era when many Motorcycle Helmets were nearly the size of space helmets? Even in to the late 80's and 90's you had bubble helmets. I know I had to wear one at times when I was a kid. They were "Touring Helmets". Yes I am talking about the white Bell Helmet that always comes to mind. The egg head. Now it' one of the most regarded vintage motorcycle helmets.
Another great now nearly vintage helmet worth mentioning is the Bell Tourstar. Back then a black Bell Tourstar with a black shield was hot. Another mean and intimidating helmet. Twenty plus years ago it was not easy to find a helmet that reflected your desired style. Many Helmets of the day and before were simply ugly. This is why the lids from the day with style are such a treasure now. Remember the old American Flag open face metallic red white and blue helmet you threw away 30 years ago? That had to be the ugliest helmet of all time. Today there are probably many people trying to get their head in one. Times Change.
