Yamaha RZ 350 YPVS : The Yamaha RZ350 is the best motorcycle ever created for public consumption. Sounds like a bold claim, but, it's true. Likely if you are looking at this page you already know this. There is not need to justify this fact. it's best to just touch on a few of the Yamaha RZ350's eccentricities.

The RZ350 could put the smack down on bigger bikes even though it was too quite slow in stock form. The magic the RZ 350 could produce could be easily had with a set of pipes, a jet kit and a three hundred and fifty dollar port job. With a bit of tuning and blot on parts to the stock bike, people were throwing these bikes down the strip in eleven something seconds. On the street the RZ 350 was leaving 750's and even 1000's in a haze of blue smoke. Not to mention professional riders were using the lightning quick handling of the little RZ to beat bigger bikes on the race track. As stated, a little tuning could easily double the engine's horsepower.

To this day RZ350 fanatics put thousands of dollars in to these bikes with aftermarket mods and borrowed parts from modern machines. It is not strange at all to see an RZ 350 with full R6 suspension, wheels and a near 80 horsepower engine. These people take these bikes very seriously. I know, I used to own one. I was lucky enough to find one that was used as a track bike. i.e. It was ported and wired. (spec 2) Bikes like the V-Rod and anything under 599cc was no match for the little RZ350. After beating them to 85 mph, I would always slow down and pretend like I had to turn off anyway as they roared past.

Everyone Loves the Yamaha RZ 350. The RZ350 even gets respect from the extreme traditional Harley crowd. "Oh, that's a Kenny Roberts RZ 350". "It has an exhaust valve controlled by a mechanical servo motor". Even "Paully" from "OCC" (the bike build show has mad respect for the little RZ and mentioned it on the show. It was his first Motorcycle. If you are not a social person you will not want to buy an RZ. Everywhere you go people want to talk up the bike. People run down the street screaming trying to catch you to talk. Park one outside in the driveway and scores of people will pull up wanting to buy it and tell old bike stories.
I have ridden everything from a Honda mini trail 50 to many hundreds of miles on a Hayabusa. The only thing i have not ridden is a V-4 class GP machine/500. No other bike can compete with the thrill factor. My current ride is a zx750 race bike with flatside carbs. It has an RZ personality. I would trade it in a second to get another RZ. Better yet, the only thing the RZ is lacking is an aluminum frame. The RZ 350 is what dreams are made of.
